About this tool
How it works
qpdf rebuilds the file's internal index and recovers streams whose lengths are wrong. If that fails, Ghostscript re-reads the pages and writes a new PDF.
Checked before you get it
The repaired file is opened independently and must contain pages with real content, so you never get an empty file presented as a success.
Frequently asked questions
Can every PDF be repaired?
No. If key parts of the file are missing (for example a cut-off download), only what's still in the file can be recovered.
Can you repair password-protected PDFs?
Unlock them first; we can't repair what we can't decrypt.
Do you keep my file?
No. It's deleted after you download it, and in any case within 60 minutes.
